Did a thorough search here to see what was reccomended for an upper and a LPK to finish the receiver I won at our State pistol match. I ordered a Del-Ton 16" chrome lined barrel, flat top, full float handguards, gas block, no sights. I put a Millett 1.5-6 scope on it. So far it has probably 300 rounds through it and accuracy plain sucks. I have a 16" Bushmaster that I use for our night matches and CQB type stages we have. I can swap from either a Millet red dot or a Leupold 1-4 scope. At 50 yards with the scope the Bushmaster will put a 5 shot group you could cover with a postage stamp. The Del-Ton would need near the letter in the envelope to cover the same 5 shot group. Nothing consistent either, out of 5 shots, one may be low left, the next low right, one high and so on. I swapped the lower from my Bushmaster to the Del-Ton upper, no difference, and the Bushmaster with the lower I put together shoots the same stamp sized group. Am I expecting to much from this or is this the norm????????? Thanks |

Thanks for the replies. I stopped tonight and picked up a box of, shall we say "higher priced" than the other stuff I tried. It has turned this thing into a 100 yard one hole shooter. I set up at 100 yards with the little orange paste on dots. Using the smallest dot, I think it`s a 1", once I got the scope zeroed, it will put 4 shots into the dot. I must admit I was impressed. It will do at 100 yards what the Bushmaster will do at 50. Now I`m glad I listened to you guys about the DelTon to use for a finish kit. Thanks again. |
