Well i'm going to be getting an AR again...had to sell my last one due to a financial emergency but I'm looking to get another one. I want to get a spike's tactical stripped lower w/ the engraving but I wanted some opinions on a good complete upper that isn't too horribly expensive. Also would like the two to match decent...trying to stay away from the black lower and grey looking upper or vise-versa...any help would be appreciated...oh and a good place to buy online would be nice too! Thanks, Ryan |
| J&T distributing has a little bit better price on their CAR kits. Not sure if chrome lined barrel is extra though? |

You mentioned the stripped lower and then the upper, are you looking for a rifle kit or just the upper? I love my Del-Ton Lightweight upper as an all around fun gun. It is not heavy but still shoots well, especially when you have to shoot without a rest. Very little fatigue from the lightweight. Here is the lightweight kit (the pic shows an A2, but the options have a flattop available by default.) Here is just the lightweight upper ![]() Make sure you spend the extra $45 on the chrome lined barrel. As a team member you can sign up for the AR15.com discount, there is a post somewhere in the EE I think that gives instructions. Although if you add items onto the order using the website, it will not give you the proper discounted price. I don't know if they go back and refigure it or not. You can call in the order to make sure you get the discount. It's only like 2% or something, but it is better than nothing at all. Their prices are really good already. Also, sign up for their newsletter online. They send out specials every once in awhile that are even better. During the 1st quarter of '07 they had 16" M4 uppers for around $355 and chrome lined for $391. I don't know how often they send the specials out, but it seems like every quarter to every half a year. The specials only last about 2 weeks, so if you wait around for one you will need to be ready to order. The only problem is, you don't know what they will put on sale. They may offer something you don't want. |

I am looking for a the rifle kit and i've found some really good deals at Del-Ton on those too...thanks for letting me know about the discount, I wasn't aware of that...every little bit helps! Is there any difference between the DTI barrel and the DPMS barrel? Just wondering if it was worth the extra for the DPMS. Also was wondering if its worth the money for the chrome bolt and carrier? |
