| I have a Bushmaster lower and v-match upper. I want to build a DCM AR. I need the following: Trigger Barrel Sights and free float handguard. My question is who makes the best following parts. What do you suggest? Opinions please. Everyone seems to be talking tactical M4's here, I already got one. Are there any good MATCH GRADE rifle topics? |

Float Tube: WOA Trigger: Geissele if you have the cash, otherwise WOA tuned RRA 2-stage Barrel: WOA with FSB if you're on a budget, Krieger if you're not. Either will shoot cleans. Sights: You're somewhat limited with the flattop upper. Check out the RRA NM detachable carry handle. I don't have one so I can't vouch for it. I do have a carry handle that John H. at WOA pinned for me a couple years ago, but it's my understanding that he no longer does this due to the hit-or-miss quality of some of the handles. I'd recommend an .062 front post and an .042 or .046 rear aperture. If you're young ( less than 30 ) with good eyes you might get away with an .055 front and .036 or .040 rear. Bottom line -- talk to John Holliger at WOA. He builds what he shoots and he has quite a list of accomplishments in the sport. I haven't dealt with Frank White at CLE but he also has a good reputation. |
Had one on my CMP logo-ed Bushmaster DCM once upon a time ago. They shoot fine, but it wouldn't be my first choice -- especially given the fact that Busmaster glues the FSB on rather than using an opposed screw setup like the WOA ( which costs $40 less than the comparable BM package with FSB and bolt ). No screws mean no way to mechanically zero the windage on the sights. Not a big deal if BM lines the FSB up properly, but then again if they don't... |
