So since this front sight uses a clamp type mehtod of fixing its self to the barrel instead of pins, how do you install it straight up and down??????     The guy I talked to at YHM said to put the gun upside down and just let it hang, gravity will put it where it shoudl be, then tighten it up.  Any Ideas?

I just put it on and tried to eyeball it.  I didn't think about hanging it upside down.  I shot it once to try to sight it in and it was off so far that I couldn't adjust with the windage on the rear sight, so I had to adjust it and try again.  I recommend taking a allen key to the range so you can adjust if you need to there instead of having to make two trips.  With the adjustment of the sight, I got it pretty much straight on.  I marked the sight and the barrel with a fine point sharpie and just rotated it how much I thought it needed to be.  This will also help so you don't adjust back too far.

You can also user a laser bore sighter to dial it in.  Zero the rear sight, and just lock down the front sight when it's aligned with the laser dot on the wall.

I use this alignment tool, but you can supposedly set the whole upper upside-down on a table and square it that way before tightening it into place.

Nice, I might try something like that.  Looks like your front sight assy could use a little CLP...

That barrel was pulled out of the scrap bin for the purpose of taking that picture.

AR15barrels, thanks for posting the picture. I was getting ready to make one out of 1/2 inch square stock and I can see that round stock is better. I just made one by chucking the rod in a hand drill and added the point with a running grinder. Fast and easy tool to build.

A friend just picked up one of those sights and asked me to install it for him. This tool will make it easier.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, Its for a A3 flat top with a EO Tech installed.  Yes, I do not have my BUIS installed at the time of the picture.  Any suggestions?

I suggest that you are lacking in the shotgun department.
I recommend a Benelli M1Super90 right away.

Maybe use a level to check that the flat top upper is level and then with the front sight raised, use the level on the top of the sight?

Also try two long, flat pieces of metal on your leveled rifle. Set one back on the flat top (90 degrees to rifle) and the other ballanced on the top of the front sight. Sight down it from the muzzle end and adjust as needed.

Also if you can get it level vertically, use a plumb bob from the top, center of the EOTech (tape measure and pencil mark) and down to the front sight.

Another, clamp two long, thin pieces of straight metal from the top of the EOTech and down on each side of the sight and using a tape measure, find the center.
