Any one put together a Double Star KIt from J+T distributing?? Any good??

Yes and Yes,
Great kits, Great rifles, with Great customer service on both the initial sale side, and if something goes wrong down the road.

But for you information, J&T is the kit/parts side of the family, and the Double Star is more of the built rifles/receivers side (Jesse is the president of the J&T side, and his wife is the president of the Double star side).

I didn't do the J+T kit thing but I did build up a Double Star lower with Double Star lower parts kit and a Double Star collapsible stock. Went smooth as can be. Zero issues or problems.

Hey yall I got a question about the J&T website. I am looking at their rifle kits and it doesn't say what does and does not come with it. The price is so cheap I am assuming that there is no lower receiver. Anyone actually get one of these kits?

Lower not included. I have 2 DoubleStar lowers and they are great stuff.

Yep, the stripped lower is not included with the kits.
So you would need to buy a stripped receiver from a FLL (any brand), then just order the kit from them.

The upper receiver will come built already, so you just have to install the parts in the lower, drop the upper on the lower you just assembled, do a quick function test on the rig, and you good to go.

Can you tell me about there bull barrel uppers,Seems i can get the 20 inch for a much cheaper price then a RRA and wondering how the fit, function and accuracy is and if they are all head spaced and tested and ready to drop on shoot? And are the bull barrels .223 only or Wylde chamber?Do they most of the time have the uppers in stock?

I got a Doublestar lower in Quakertown and am putting a Del-Ton kit on it.  The quality of the Doublestar is easily as good as my Bushies and RRs. The Doublestar was $30 cheaper than the last BM lower. I like the Dragon logo better than the Stags too!

I just finished a J&T parts build on a Doublestar Lower.  NICE.  Best build yet, and I have used RRA, Stag, and DPMS lowers.  Of course, I have yet to test fire it.

I built a J&T 16" Carbine Kit last night on a Doublestar lower. Fit and fuction are great, wonderful finish. I'm extremely impressed by the quality and customer service.

I have two Doublestar lowers. No problems. But, I hate the bat/gremlin/griffin logo. Worse than the deer on Stags. Yes, it's a big deal to me. I'm very sensitive about such things................

+1 Why do these manufacturers insist on putting such dumb stuff on the side of their receivers? What's wrong with plain text or maybe a symbol that has something to do with the gun? What are we to assume, DPMS are for shooting endangered cats and Double Stars are for hunting bats (or vampires?). Don't get me wrong. I don't want them to Islamo terrorist or prairie dogs on the side either. Just something tasteful would be fine.

Is a 5.56mm rifle adequate for dragon?

Does anyone make an AR with a Zombie on the side?

They will do any custom work to trick out the standard kit for a reasonable price. The kit went together well and functions great.

Why does double star only show neutered ar15s on their website and claim that collapsible stocks are available to LE/.mil only ?

Just ordered my second Double Star lower. Both Brownell's and Midway were out of the Doublestar LPK's so I went with DPMS for the pieces. Hope this one goes as smooth as the first.

Because when their site was designed, it was still the ban period,
And why has it not been changed yet,
let’s see, Jesse and Teresa have a newborn along with a few other kids (and don't forget the cat) to take care of, and that’s not even counting both sides of the company to run as well.

So unless they just pull the diaper off the new born and let him and the other kids free roam out back of the shop instead of doing the feedings/changes, I would vote for just calling them up to order what you want/know is legal, and pay little attention to semi outdated statements on the site.
