Well I have been wanting to get an AR15 for some time now and am finially really to get one. I went to a local gun shop and they had a RRA M4 style AR15 for a $1000 but I have been thinking about the idea of building my own (for the learning experience and to save some money). I really like the M4 style so thats what i would like to start out with. I would want to build a gun that is reliable, fun to shoot, and accurate. I searched around but didnt really find the answer i have been looking for. A couple questions that i have:
I think that is is for now. Any help would be apperiated. Again sorry for such newbie questions. -Steven |

Where to start? Read all the FAQs here.. then you'll have a list of more detailed questions for a build. The most straightforward approach it get to a kit (all parts minus the lower reciever) and a lower, and slap it all together. Kits often have the upper assembly already put together, so you can do the rest with common hand tools. Parts shipping? Only the lower reciever needs to ship to a gun shop (FFL holder) as it's the part with a serial number. All other parts can come in the regular mail straight to your doorstep. |
