Anyone use these?  I want to put a 12" railed handguard on a 14.5 upper with a perm. attached flash supressor and the 2 piece design means I can leave the supressor on and just cut the old gas block off.  It says it will work with an guard that is 1 5/8 ID, does anyone know what handguards would work for that size?   Thanks, Mike.

Try a samson or a troy.  They are 2 piece FF handguards, so you won't really have to worry about the diameter of the gas block.  Now if you go with a one piece like a Larue or DD, you may have to contact the manufacturer.

If you don't go with the 2 piece FF tubes, you will need to make sure that the new barrel nut will clear the flash hider; I would assume that they would. The barrel nut is pretty wide since it must go on the largest part of the barrel next to the receiver.

YHM, JP and DPMS will all work with a YHM specter gas block.
Troy, Samson and MI are going to be real close and I doubt they would fit.
Daniel Defense, LaRue and Knights are definetly NOT going to work.

You are missing the fact that he wants to COVER the gas block with the handguard.

Are there any other 2 piece gasblocks that might work better in this type of situation? I'm looking for the same thing (slightly different reason).

Not that I am aware of.
If you find one, let me know...
