First off let me start by thanking everyone for excellent info on this community.  I have been reading here for quite sometime now and am very impressed by the information I have received.  Thank you!!!

Question??  I am considering buying the Del-ton 16" M4 Rifle kit.  Anyone have one? What are the good, bads and uglies??  Anyone had problems?  What is the quality?

Any info would be great.

Thanks again

Lots of info around here on Del-ton , recently there was a best & worse customer service thread for companies offering ar kits, try a search.

Very happy with them.  Be sure and get a chrome lined barrel.

Welcome aboard

I have the same kit that you are looking at attached to a Stag lower and I love it. Absolutely no problems, finish is great, and it shoots like a dream. I actually used a Stag LPK so I don't know about Del-ton's LPK (still sealed up waiting for a receiver). I don't think you can go wrong with it and their customer service is excellent.

I bought a carbine upper from them.

Fit looks good, gun runs fine.  The delta ring on my Del-Ton carbine is a hell of a lot harder to depress than my RRA 20".

My Upper arrived the same week that I has ordered it.

My only wish is that Del-Ton would give the option for 1:8 SS barrels.

Thanks for this info. I plan on ordering next week.  Can't wait to put it on my lower.

I appreciate the feedback, I wanted first hand opinions from purchasers of these kits.  Thanks again, this group always impresses me.

Well I had to send my M4 kit back for a canted FH, leaking gas around the FSB at the barrel, and tearing the rim off of cases. They "honed out" the chamber (without checking the gas port or even checking chamber dimensions before or after), straghtened the FH, and politely said, "can't do anything about the gas leak, that's pretty common on those barrels.". I paid extra for a chrome lined barrel and this is what I get. hinking.gif Everyone puts out a lemon once in a while. That's just Murphy at work. I just expected more in the way of quality control and pride in the product they sell after it was sent in for service. They won't be getting my business again.

They have a special on their M4 uppers right now, I don't know if you could save any money buying the upper and a LPK + stock from them or not. You may even save some money buying the LPK and buttstock from another vendor too. I don't know the price differences, but the coupon code that they emailed out saves $50 on the M4 upper, including chromed lined. The chrome lined comes out to be $391 after discount, so I'll let you add up the LPK and the buttstock to see if it is cheaper.
