Where can I find a list of "do's and dont's" for AR building?(from a legality standpoint of course) I've got a Bushmaster reciever and have no clue as to whether or not its a pre or post ban reciever(if it matters) in other words,is it legal to assemble pre-ban parts to a post-ban reciever,vise-versa.Thats just one of many Q's I have in my journey of building my "perfect" AR. I built one several years ago but it was just a basic kit less reciever. Thanks for any info

There are no more concerns over pre or post ban since 9/2004 unless your state has its own ban (which Ky doesn't as far as I know). Other than that, a minimum barrel length of 16" and don't put any M16 parts in the trigger group and you'll be fine.

I don't know of a Do and Don't list.  I don't think that KY has a AWB of their own, so you should be able to build it in about any configuration you want, as long as it has a 16" barrel on it.

So legally,if I want a compensator/flash hider,it doesnt have to be permanantly attached as long as the barrel itself is 16"? And you're correct,KY doesnt have the AWB
