I installed the Arms upper and lower handguards on my Bushmaster upper receiver but I am having a hard time installing the number 1 and 2 ris plates onto the forearm.  I made sure that the screw is aligned with the threading on the bottom but I can't seem to secure it to the lower handguard.  Did I get defective plates or has anyone else had this problem?  I appreciate any help given.  Thanks.

the rails have to be added onto the lower before it is put on the upper. Then the screws will tighten with the upper like the rear ones do.

I did it just like you recommended and I can't get the screws to stay in place.  Should I order another set of rails to see if that is the problem?

Add the rails to the lower, but don't tighten the screws.  They get tightened only after the lower is slid into place.

I'm sure your rails are fine, it just takes some finesse to get it assembled properly.
