Has any one purchased one of the rifle kits that Sarco offers ? I have noticed they have some with and without forward assist and what the quality of these kits are.

How in general is Sarco to deal with ?

Thanks

I bought one of the Sarco M-16 vet kits a few months ago when the price was $425.  I saw that they are up to $475 now.  The kit that I got was in good overall shape, but they sent the kit to me in pieces because they were out of stock on a lot of the parts.  I eventually got everything.

If you want a slabside kit (w/o forward assist) than they are one of the few places that have them.  I can't say that the customer service is great, but at least I got everything.  If you want more info look in the Retro Forum.  Hope this helps.

Buying something from SARCO is buying a ticket on the lottery.  You may get a really good deal, and you may end up w/crap.

Understand. SARCO has barrels full of bits and pieces, and the person filling your order is just going reach into the bin, or shelf, and grab the first thing that hits his hand. That might be a brand new unfired barrel, or it might be a shot out piece of junk.

Seveal years ago I recommended SARCO to a guy on the old Valmet web site as a source for a Galil gas piston; because I'd gotten a brand new one from them a few months earlier.  He ordered one, paid the same price I did, and got a rusted out piece of junk that was worse than the piston he was trying to replace.

I've never trusted SARCO since, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. Now there are some things that SARCO has that you can't get anywhere else, and if that happens to me, sure, I'll try them again.

But when it comes to AR stuff, there are too many other places with consistently good service and good condition stuff to take a chance w/them.
