Sounds like the nut will need a stock wrench, and the tear drop shaped piece of metal covers the detent and spring that holds the retaining pin.  Read this thread, about half way down it shows in detail how to do a collapsing stock.  Steps 8 & 9.  Good luck!

Yeah I meant to say round nut not a round not lol

I managed to get it in and all is well except for my bolt release pin that I have halfway in and cant move anymore lol. I am pondering cutting it with a dremel tool but I am not sure, the function works fine, the pin is just halfway out because I slightly bent it while trying to get it in when i thought i was in the hole of the release but wasnt.

Also, when i screw the grip down tight my select button will not turn but if i loosen the screw half to 1 turn,it works fine. This is a DPMS lower parts kit,I havent ever had this much damn trouble ever.

This is my 3rd build believe it or not and I have never ever had trouble before, not even on my first one.

I wonder if anyone at the show this weekend in Cleveland could get the pin out for me and put a new on it while I was at the show.

Your grip screw is slightly too long and needs to be shortened, or you can put a washer under it.  The screw is "aimed" right at the selector, and will contact it and bind it up if too long.
