I'm sure there's one available for the AR but I can't seem to find it.  It's been a long time since I've had the bolt torn down - having an extraction problem and want to install the 'O' ring remedy.  I had sent the unit to an AR 'specialist' a year ago and I'll never do that again;  when I attempted to tear down the bolt I found that the gas tube thingy (sorry 'bout that) allen screws had been peened and red Lok-Tited in place.  I need to get an easy out to remove the last one.  On eo other thing, if I want to replace the extractor spring, who carries those. I used ADCO (I believe, offhand) for the Vitron 'O' rings.

TIA,
Chiz (lurker - too ignorant to be much of a poster)

Next time just go to ACE or Fastenall or some hardware store to buy the o ring

As for your question, are you taking apart the bolt or bolt carrier?

Chapter 2-13  has every thing you need to know about the bolt and carrier.  It's a PDF filw so you might want to save a copy on your harddrive.

Thanks for the posts back.  I'll get it sorted out with the pdf.  I tried a couple of others but with a dialup connection out here in the boonies the download time requires me to shave twice.  I literally slapped this thing together from a parts kit just six months before the '94 AWB.  It has never worked well for that reason and for that reason I sent it to a smith with terrible results.  This was just one of the issues that was either skipped or done incorrectly.  So, between the frustration and the exasperation (and the money wasted) I decided that it's time to get my act together.
Again, thanks,
Chiz
