Yes they both use the same buffer tube, spring, and buffer. The A2 stock uses a spacer on the end of the tube to make up for its added length. Just be sure to use a shorter screw with the A1 buttstock.

thanks a bunch... I just ordered my first AR kit and am thinking about putting some A1 furniture on it.
