Are uppers usually really expensive in comparison to lowers?

So far I have planned...
- RRA lower with A2 stock $245.

And to complete an upper (I looked at the guides, only showed barrel assembly) but what is the complete parts list for a stripped upper?

Incase you haven't guessed I am trying to stay budget minded... I would like to build this rifle in $200-250 increments if possible. Once I get the basics down I should be fine from then on out.

Thanks!

based on your increments

1.complete upper reciever (upper reciever, ejectio door, forward assist)

2. barrel assembly ( barrel, front sight, delta ring and barrel nut and handguards)

3. bolt carrier group( carrier with staked key and bolt) also the charging handle

4. some sort of buis or carry handle

the upper is usually more expensive than the lower especially if you're using std parts. you can use the equipment exchange or the industry forum to source for the parts

Consider getting the RR A2 lower with the Nat Match trigger up front.  Probably around $300-$320 total.

The $245 model is likely a standard trigger which leaves much to be desired.  IMO just spend the money up front and you won't have a $50 fcg you will end up replacing anyway down the road.

Question on the NM trigger...

I know it can be "set" for a 2.5lb pull. But what if I just wanted to fire normally semi-auto for kicks? It fuction as normal?

Thanks for the increment chart! Just what I need.

Well when I find out more information on the trigger (don't worry, I'll google it later) this might change. But, here it goes.

Order #1.
RRA A2 complete lower. -- $250

Order #2.
RRA Upper and complete bolt carrier, and charge handle --$240

Order #3.
Delta ring kit, gas tube, handguards, and M4 chrome lined barrel asbly (when its in stock at adco).
-- $245

Look about right? I couldn't find a barrel nut listed on the site though. This is looking ALOT more feasible then I imagined! HAPPY is the key word.

Sounds like you have a workable plan.  Make sure you have the correct tools to barrel the upper when it comes in.

Why not just get a complete upper?  It will cost less if anything and save you buying the tools.  It's not the $200 at a time program but you can stash $200 in your sock drawer for a while.  You could also look at a Stag upper from www.eaglefirearms.net they've got a complete upper for $430 w/ B/C/H chrome 16" M4.

The barrel assembly will come with a barrel nut.  The nut needs to go on before the FSB so they're generally included w/ the barrel.

Don't forget Ameetec Arms...
Quality at a great price for what you would like to do at $200.00 or less a whack
