I have a 20" flat top upper. Can I simply have the front section cut off? Or do I have to move the gas block closer toward the receiver? Sorry in advance if this is a FAQ, but I couldnt find any info with the search. |
You get the smoother ops of the rifle length gas system along with the rifle length sight radius, all in a carbine length, mobile package. If you do it with a gov't profile barrel, you get a very light package, also. |
I did one for BadSVT. I've also done two for myself. Link to BadSVT's Dissy Link to my Dissergy project |
0.100" works for me and the barrels I used. Some say 0.110" is needed, but I came up on my gas port size in increments and it ran fine at 0.100", so if you started at 0.100", it should work, but a tweak or two may be needed. |
The EE mostly. I look for new or low round count gov't profile barrels. IMHO, if you want a Dissy, it's the only way to go. |
