I'd like to replace my current ejector spring with an M4 spring, and I was wondering if somebody could give me step by step instructions. I see a very small roll pin there, but I don't seem to have a punch small enough for it. Any ideas on size? I'd really appreciate any help! Nick |

extractor or ejector? with the extractor all you do is press down on the rear of it away from the bolt face and use a puch to push out the pin. the ejector is held in the the roll pin and that would need to be hammered out. not exactly sure since i have never need to replace one. adco sells a little tool that depresses the ejector to ease replacement so im guessing the it needs to be depressed. |
| Replacing the AR15 ejector spring is a project that requires 3 hands or a special tool available from Sinclair. Using 3 hands depress the ejector to relieve some the tension. Using a small hammer and a 1/16 inch punch, available from Brownells, carefully drive out the retaing pin from left to right or right to left while maintaing tension on the ejector. Then while maintaining tension on the ejector allow the ejector to move forward until all spring tension is released. Remove the ejector and pay careful attention to which end comes out first and the location of the retaing pin surface in relationship to the bolt. The ejector spring can now be removed. It sometimes needs to be fished out with the 1/16 inch punch. Assemble in reverse order. Good luck. |
