I'm building my first lower.  I installed the trigger assembly into the receiver and secured it with the pin.  Then I put the hammer spring on the hammer and installed that into the receiver locking it in with the pin.   When I cock the hammer back, it stays back, and when I pull the trigger it goes forward like it should.  But when I pull the trigger and continue to hold it while I pull the hammer back again, the hammer doesn't lock back.  I can feel lit almost catching, but it doesn't lock.  Would this result in full auto fire? And what have I done wrong and how do I fix it?  Thanks.

Is everything assembled in the lower?

No, not yet.  I was going step by step with the instructions on here, and after the assembly instructions, it said to check for functionality and pull the hammer back while still holding the trigger to make sure it catches.

Disconnector and/or diconnector spring installed?

Yeah, that's installed.

Function check after trigger, disconnector, hammer, selector, pistol grip are in place.  Just be sure you do not let the hammer drop all the way w/o the upper on (catch it with your thumb).  You could cause some damage.

complete the lower and then check it.

Okay, everything's fine now.  Once I installed the selector and grip, everything functioned fine.  It just said to do that function check after that step of the process so I was a little worried I screwed something up.  Thanks for the help guys.

Glad to hear it.  You aren't the first person to have that concern part way through assembly.
