Well, ALMOST done.  I'm going to replace the vertical grip with a Tango Down or a Dieter CQB... that happens next week.

Sorry I don't have inline pictures, I don't have any hosting right now!!

My Build

Let me know what you all think...  It was a great experience and I learned a lot about the rifle, how its built, and some things to look out for!

Good looking carbine. Details...

How do you like your flip up front sight? I have one like it but haven't installed it yet, is it easy to install?

Yes, it was very easy to install.  Well, after getting the original FSB off which was a royal pain.

Well...

Colt M4 Match Target
GG&G Floating rail system
GG&G "sling thing" for the rail
Smith Enterprises Vortex
YHM front flipup/gasblock
ARMS #40 flipup rear
Vltor standard stock kit
Vltor rubber buttstock pad
Ergogrip
EOTech 512
Magpul enhanced trigger guard
El cheapo vertical grip soon to be replaced with either a Tango Down or a Dieter CQB (probably this one).

I haven't decided on the tac light.  I'm going to think about it because if I decide to get a light I'm going with one of those surefire grip/light combos instead of getting the TD or Dieter.

I guess I must have put it together correctly because I've put about 500 rounds through it and it shoots wonderfully without a single malfunction.  I've got a harris bipod that I switch out when I'm sighting it in, etc...  Its been a lot of fun.

I had an ACOG Reflex on it and while I like it in optimal lighting conditions the EOTech is way better.  The Reflex would be so sweet if they would just come up with a simple battery-backup for it.  They are trying to make the tripower when they could have just come up with a reflex that has battery.  When I put a light on the fiberoptic the recticle is beautiful and the optics have excellent clarity you just get washout in a lot of lighting conditions... hence the EOTech.

Thanks for all the help during the build.  I sure ran into my fair share of issues while learning how this thing is put together beyond a normal field stripping.  It was very fun and I can't wait for my next one!!

Oh.. to answer your question about the sight, yes I really like it.  I like how its outta the way when I'm going optic... with the longer front sight pin it matches the ARMS #40 perfectly and I get absolute co-witness when they are both extended.

Nice Rifle!

Have you started thinking about what your going to build next  If you have, then that's a symptom that  the uncontrollable BRD is taking possesion of you

I have recently completed my first 2 builds and am also thinking about a battle light.  I probably will go with the surefire grip/light combo myself.

Thanks to all, I really appreciate the compliments.

As far as my next build, I have no idea.  Its strange... I'm looking at my M4 and saying "its done???".  Its like NOW what am I going to do??  That's probably the bug to build another one!  I wouldn't mind building a shorty if I could get a vortex permanently installed on the barrel, perhaps that's my next one!
