| What should I look for in a 16” M4 upper? |
So very true. Test fired my LMT upper and then immediately tore it apart and added a DD 12FSP rail system. A friend thought I was nuts. bkj, Seriously, the LMT uppers are nice. They have all of the items listed above, although I don't remember the exact steel used in the barrel. I would definitely push for a lighter barrel under the handguards, it just feels better to me. What they said plus: Barrel: 1/7 twist M4 profile with M203 barrel mount MP tested A2 FS F type FSB with bayonet lug Barrel side sling mount at FSB M4 double heat shield handguard T marked flat top upper receiver Upper receiver with feed ramps cuts Optional: Knight's Armament Co. M4 RAS rail system KAC VFG M16 BCG Mil-Spec brands: Colt , LMT, Knight's Armament Co., CMT, Stag Arms and Sabre Defence You could also go with non Mil-Spec brands. The closest to the M4 would be the Colt upper from the 6920 LE model but that's a real M$. I couldn't afford the Colt right now because of my other AR projects, so I just bought a LMT upper. YMMV Here's a link of my LMT-Colt hybrid M4gery, second one from the bottom of the page. M4gery Pic Thread link |
