How do you correctly attach an aluminum gas block to a barrel? I used red loc-tite on my last one and tore it up trying to remove it. Now I've got one on my AR and it keeps coming  loose. I don't want to torque it down any harder cause I don't want to bugger up the screws.

It's a DPMS gas block with rails on all four sides. Two allen head set screws on the bottom.

Thanks for the help.

Use red Loc-Tite, and don't try to remove it?

Come on guys, I know somebody has figured out how to install these blocks without them coming loose but without making it permanent.

There are several "service removable" Locktite products.  One is blue and the other is purple.  I don't know the numbers offhand.

I "eye-ball" mine. I have a flat top upper, so the flat top of the gas block just lines up. Then you have to get it lined up "front to back." Mine lines up at the leading edge of the barrel's land.

O.K., that didn't make much sense. Just get it as close as you can and shoot it. If it runs, it's lined up cprrectly, if not, adjust accordingly.
