Going to be installing a new barrel. Can I use field gages to check my headspace? Thanks for any help.

On a new barrel a go guage should chamber, a no go should not and a field should not. Field is the largest of the 3.

I quess I should have asked if you can use 223 or 5.56 gages on a wylde chamber

I don't know that it makes a great difference for this chamber. The Wylde is made to a standard NATO chamber print except for the throat, which is just smaller in diameter. The last barrel I chambered to 223 I used a JGS Wylde reamer and cut it to 223 specs for headspace and it has been trouble free.
