I have a Bushmaster AR15 M4 A3 16" on order (now 16 weeks). This is my first AR and I got the fever bad! When I placed my order, I was told to expect a December, 2004 delivery. I happen to see a Bushmaster 22LR upper and bought it at a good price and thought it would make a nice change to go with the new 223. Now I have been told "who knows when Bushmaster will ship" so I have been looking at this build it your self site. Here is what I have so far: Bushmaster 22LR upper, Stag stripped lower, Bushmaster lower parts kit. I would like to get a 6 position collapsible stock for $100 or less. I saw a RRA (Brownells) for a little less than $100 described as "convert your rifle to an A4 style" for pre-ban only. This comes with everything but says that the carbine spring and buffer are available separately. I also saw a 6 position DPMS described as "fits M4 post ban 16" RFA@ M4 PMC223". This build is mainly a plinker to go with the 22 LR upper. I will still wait for my complete 223 rifle from Bushmaster. Can anyone help me with advice on this build other than "take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning"! Thanks for helping a new guy |
| Under what circumstances would I have to buy the separate carbine spring and buffer? The basic RRA 6 position comes with the recoil spring and buffer. I don't know what to use with the Bushy 22LR upper although it has its own buffer and spring (maybe I answered by own question?) I would rather stay with Bushy only because most of what I already have is Bushy (Stag lower excepted). |

Well you can have an extra buffer and spring lying around, just in case. BTW, RB Precision offers un-marked RRA stocks in their EE add. I only mention it because RRA and Bushy 6 position stocks are identical. But if you want the snake on the side, you're gonna pay a little extra. WIZZO |
