I received my J&T CAR kit yesterday.  I am putting it on a stripped RRA lower.  It is my first build, so I am taking it one step at a time.  I was disappointed last weekend when I realized that my lower parts kit was missing the bolt catch and bolt catch detent.  I called and they sent them out and I received them today.  I was excited to proceed with my build tonight, and got through only two more steps to find that I had no trigger or hammer pins.  I have to say I'm pretty annoyed with J&T over this.  I paid more for them (rather than Model 1) because I heard such good things.  They sell so many of these kits, how can they not have it down to a science when they pick these parts and toss them into the zip-lock sandwich bag?

I know I should have taken a parts inventory when I got the kit, or at least when I realized the bolt catch was missing.  But as I said, I am really taking my time and working my way through my first build one step at a time.

Have any of you had any problems with missing parts in the lower parts kit?

From what I have read on these boards, it happens to all of the various kit makers from time to time, lot's of little parts in those kits, if the person who puts them together isn't paying close attention things get left out, the important thing is what the company does when you call them about the missing parts.

When you get a kit the first thing to do is inventory, compare the parts kit to a diagram to make sure everything is there.  Here's a link to instructions with a real nice parts diagram to double check your small parts kit.

I bought a kit from J&T last December, there were no missing parts in my kit, there were a couple of extra detent springs and detent pins in mine.

I talked to J&T today about the missing pins.  The woman said they had a bad batch of parts kits go out.  She didn't say why.  She also didn't apologize, which in my opinion, she should have done.  As I stated before, I understand things happen in business, and I'm not saying their product isn't good, or that I wouldn't use them again, but I would think they would at least apologize.

In the meantime, I took my inpatient self to a local store today at lunch and got my pins.
