Try moving your optic forward, you might find it help quite a bit.

It looks good.

How many notches do you think?  I just slapped it all togeather on my lunch break when the barrel came in, so i haven't toyed with it yet.  How do you feel about a half inch riser as well?  To drop the buis into the lower third of the field of vision.

okay, cool, got the rest of my stuff on the way.  I have a sling mount for the forend so i have a 3 point option.  I've got the offset mount on the way and a half inch riser.

Brightflashlights in the industry forum is an accessory god.  All the lighting equipment YHM and magpul gear is from him.  saved me hundreds.

Here is a picture of mine, I wouldn't want it any further back than it is in this pic.  I would mount mine more forward, but it is a duty weapon, and farther forward interferes with my vehicle mount lock assembly.

If you try it, I think you will find it aids in keeping both eyes open while shooting.  There is less tendency to use it like a scope when it is further forward.

Nice carbine.  The backwards front sight almost gives off an HKish look.
