I just wanted to post that I did my first real "work" on my Bushmaster M4A3.  Installing the EOTech 512 and ARMS #40 is easy since it just drops on, but I did my first working using a punch and hammer to install The Gapper on the trigger guard.  Now I need to get a good set of tools and start getting deeper.  How is Bushmaster's Armorer DVD?

What'd you need the punch for?

You can install the Gapper with a screw driver by removing the grip.

I've managed to install all my gappers by just pushing them into place....

Didn't have one handy. I just punched out the roll pin.

But it even tells you it just pushes in...

My "gapper" is an old orange earplug I stuck in there during a class.

I just use a chunk of black foam caulking cord. Check the ground on any commercial construction site. Many of you probably step over this stuff every day.

I'm missing something here.

I've never seen the need for a Gapper.

Really, the "gap" filled by the Gapper has never bothered me.

I've made 2 of them out of rubber block that my buddy gave me. He is a Glazer (installs glass) they use it for glass spacers, 1/4" drill, file, and sandpaper. Now I'm not that cheap it's just $5.00 shipping when I don't need anything else was ridiculus

Ever take a carbine class?  Ever put 1000+ rounds through your AR in one range trip?

Your finger will get rubbed raw.  (Of course, I'm assuming you're not wearing gloves.)

Nope and nope. I guess that pretty well explains it.

I never understood it either until I attended my first class.  That blister appeared AMAZINGLY fast.
