OK, So I made some money by selling one of my AR's. This is good because I can now build tyhe AR I have always wanted. I usually go through Eagle Firearms for all my ART needs. This time I thought I should support local dealers. At the gun show I find a lower, a stock set, and a LPK. The lower is a Grizzly, the stock is Olympic (unsure), and the LPK is Armalite. I was happy with the lower and the stock set. The LPK is another story. I bought it thinking, "Armalite, that's a good name in ARs!" I got the kit home to start assembling the lower, and I find I have extra detent springs, but no hammer spring. My build is now frozen on account of a $0.10 piece of spring steel. I knew I should have just gone to Eagle Firearms like I have in the past, but no! I had to support local dealers who have their stuff overpriced. I want toi help the regional gun economy but this is why it falters.

Anyone got an extra hammer spring?

how is that a local dealer if it at a gunshow?  local dealer and gunshow ripoffs are two different animals.

if it was a local dealer then take it back to him for your spring.

if you didnt have a reputable dealer to deal with then you should have went to eagle firearms

The problem with buying only a spring, if you have to get it online, is the cost of shipping and the envelope!!  BTDT, GTTS

If you can't find one locally in the next few days, and you're willing to split the cost of the mailing envelope and the shipping 50/50 with me, I'll send you one.  Just IM or email me your address.

A good rule of thumb at a gunshow is only deal with local and regional dealers that have their business cards on their table. It doesn't mean that they will be on the up and up, but at least you can aggrevate them with a problem.  I deal with the same people at gunshows if I need something right away. I haven't had any bad experiences yet. Yesterday, at a local gunshow,  I bought a DMPS LPK for  an Oly lower and the dealer opened the parts bag and we checked all of the parts before I purchased.

Sorry about your experience.

Did your Armalite LPK come in an olive drab plastic box?

That's funny.  Shorted by Armalite then referred to Georgia Precision.
