Think about threading a postban barrel. Correct me if I'm wrong, I need to turn the first 0.65" of the barrel down to .5" in diameter then thread with right hand 1/2x28 die, right?. Do I need to remove the barrel extension before I turn down the barrel? Any precise specifications, blueprint or instructions would be much appreciated.

The first thing I must say is:

DO NOT TOUCH THE BARREL EXTENSION!!!!

The most you would need to do is remove the barrel from the receiver, assuming you are going to use a lathe to turn down the barrel.  The barrel should be turned down to 0.496" for 5/8", then threaded.  Some companies undercut the last 1/8" or so (nearest the front sight), then thread the remaining 1/2".

You are going to have a hard time getting a die up close enough to the shoulder to give you full threads.  If you can lathe-turn the barrel, it really isn't hard to cut the threads with a single-point tool.  Especially if you do the undercut first.

can the barrel be threaded without remove it from the upper?

Yes.  This is a guess, but I think that the people who do it this way are using a CNC mill and single point cutting or die cutting the threads that way.
