I'm thinking about ordering the parts and building a RRA 9mm carbine. When I say "building", I use the term very loosely. I would order the 9mm upper, lower and the mag-well block. I also understand that I would need a hammer and buffer specific to the 9mm AR's. Has anyone here done this? Any pros or cons that need to be considered? I've read nothing but good things sbout RRA products, but have no experience with them. I thought about just buying one of the Colt 6450's, they average around $1500.00. But the Colt doesn't have a removable carrying handle and still has A1 sights. If I spent that same $1500 at RRA, I could get one with a quad rail hand guard, gas block, "flip-up" sights (front and rear), and a couple other bells and whistles. Just seems like you get more for your money at RRA. Also, if anyone has done this, will RRA pin the mag-well block into the receiver if you ask? Or does it need to be pinned in? I've noticed on the 6450, it is pinned but also kow that you can order the parts to add to an existing lower and didn't know if it needed to be pinned. I know this is the place for advice, so any you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated. I want to add a 9mm to the collection... http://images.snapfish.com/342%3C762%3B23232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2339%3D77%3C%3D884%3DXROQDF%3E2323787%3C98794ot1lsi http://images.snapfish.com/342%3C762%3B23232%7Ffp54%3Dot%3E2339%3D77%3C%3D884%3DXROQDF%3E2323787%3C988%3B7ot1lsi |
Kurt made this one, but I would refer you to WA Tom @ Total Silence Inc, Darrin Reiss, Aaron Einsel, Mike Woodward if you want something from blank... Mine is from stainless steel blank, 8.5" long, and cut to duplicate the Uzi without the barrel nut, so a Uzi can screws right on. WA Tom be you contact if you want this style. Joeblack, ADCO will cut down regular barrel, and joeblack do custom work (threading-adapters). |
