| I am planning my next build, and I want to build a heavy barrel long range shooter. Which A3 type upper do I need? Standard or highrise? Why? What are the advantages of one over the other? Thanks in advance |

Any good quality regular flattop and a Larue SPR/M4 mount should work. Unless you have some huge front bell or a really fat head you probably won't need a hi-rise. A standard A3 will tend to be stiffer than a hi-rise. |

Not everyone wants to use a $195 scope mount, there are many fine alternatives for less money, you can get a high rise mount for $45 from ADCO Firearms, or use a riser and standard rings. www.adcofirearms.com/rockriver/rockrivermnts.cfm?page=rra Standard rings on a regular flat top position the scope too low. |
