Hey guys, sending in a neutered barrel to Adco here but I don't have an action block.

Can you get a barrel off without one or will it tweak the receiver? The biotch is on tight, I'm wondering if I pad the receiver in a vice if I can get the barrel out.

thanks

It's possible.  A lot easier with an A2 than A3 tho.  Wrap it in some towels, and tighten enough to hold firmly but not enough to break/bend the receiver.

That being said, I recommend you get the action block or borrow one from someone in your hometown forums.... cheapskate!

Where do you live?

I am in Merrimack and you can  bring it by and we can get the barrel off for you.

E-mail me if you want my address.

Later,
Jeff

I know you will all hate this, and I'm not saying it's the best way..........

I have taken off so many barrels by holding the complete gun between my legs and tapping the barrel wrench with a hammer.....I've never had anything bad happen...except black and blue spots on my inner thighs.

That is always my favorite.  If you had LEGO as a child there is no reason you can't assemble/disassemble an AR-15 from just having a box of parts and basic tools.  Some folks here don't  seem to be able to get past the fact that  you don't really build an AR,  you assemble it that is all.
