Why does it seem so many people are using the A3 uppers for builds with lights, lasers etc now?

I am looking at putting my first rifle together. 16 in barrel
I want to use an Arms system. (Arms 50?)
I have a Aimpoint
I want to have a surefire with the front grip.
Some type of folding front sight?

Why is the A3 upper the way to go?
I used to see quite a few A2 uppers with the Aimpoint or whatever mounted

I got an A3 because I don't need a special mount to put an EoTech on the rail and I can have my sights cowitness in the middle of the window.

I got an A2 because I wanted a simple AR and wasn't concerned with getting an Aimpoint or Eotech on it. I did get a cheap BSA to play around with just to see what all the optic fuss was about. It's pretty cool, I may build a flat top later and do optics, but I still like the simple A2.

The A3 is great because you get the best of both worlds. If you go optics, you don't need a special mount. If you want classic looks and wanna use irons...you can get a detatchable carry handle and always be able to use optics when you feel like it.
