Got my DPMS 16"bull in today..took off the gas block started sliding in the barrel and slam bam! the barrel diameter is slightly larger in behind the gasblock, and hits the inside part of the handguards  like maybe 1/8th inch too big. so what should i do try dremeling the inside of the handguard or buy anew handguard? the handguard inside is 1" where the DPMS is slightly over 1" but i forgot how much. will i have this trouble with all bull barrels? should i try a smaller contour?

The easiest thing to do is to have a machinist turn the barrel down slightly to fit the HG. Or you could bore out the HG to the BBl diameter, but that would leave bare aluminum exposed.
Good Luck.

I always try to modify the cheapest part to replace.  Dave

what kinda problems would i run into if i dore out the HG to the BBl and it left bare aluminum exposed? I think im gonna send the barrel back and get a 20" but now im worried that i may buy another barrel and it be too big of diameter as well.
