OK I am about to start my first of 2 pistol builds (recievers in hand). Other than Model 1 and Oly Arms, who out there hase pistol kits? I can't seem to find to many places that carry them. I have already ordered a 7 1/2 " kit from Model 1...... and along those lines, do they send you and e-mail when they ship your kit or does it show up on your door one day? I like the Oly kits, but seeing how my job is going down hill quick I'm not really wanting to dump $700+ on one of those bad boys! So what options am I left with, Model 1 again, or someone else?

I wish i had the funds to buy one of the 7.5" Kittys from CMMG. I like my M1 10.25 kit, I dont recommend some of their parts though. If I had it to do again I'd have bought a upper from them and the B/C/CH from RBPrecision. I didnt even bother with the pistol buffer they use. I had them substitute a 4 pos car stock I then converted. I realize the pistol buffer can be tweaked, but I didnt want to waste my time. The conversion I did looks better anyways IMHO.

I'm fairly certian BM still makes pistol uppers.

I might try a FTF Industries upper. You can find them on Gunbroker. Not sure if it will be worth $60 more than the Model 1 though.

I'd get a chrome lined M1 upper. Thay use ER Shaw barrels and the last upper I got from them had t rails and a Cerro Forge keyhole.

I wouldnt recommend buying off of FTF industries...Besides the bad feedback i have heard from the board, i ordered a flat top upper receiver from them, which suppost to have been a Bushmaster, but wasnt. There is no way that they can be trusted, that is why i will not purchase anything else from them.

I thought I had heard some poop on FTF. I wasnt sure though. I wouldnt be in the Ar business if my company were called FTF.

CMMG has pistol uppers. I think their website is down right now. They have a forum in the industry section.
