If you want to low budget the stock, then be forewarned that you may have to adjust the receiver extension front lip to index the stock correctly (lenght to buffer retaining pin center post), and may have to relieve the top of the butt stockfront section to allow the charging handle to glide by in the closed position. Also, I would mot do a hard butt stock blow/ changing handle pull to clear a round with one of these, in fear that it would distroy the receiver extension. |

The RRA is a much better stock, however for the price the cheap (Target Sports, probably Chinese) CAR stock I got is pretty good. Much better than the factory Olympic CAR stocks than showed up on thhe two K3Bs my store got the other day. Those were terrible (poor molding marks, sticky latches, etc). The cheap one at least has a nice even finish and works smoothly. For the price not bad (half a RRA). Now, that being said, I just tried a VLTOR the other day and that will be my next stock. Wish I could bring myself to spend the money on a SOPMOD stock but just can't. |
I do buy american sometimes. Why pay more for the same stock,? I can get more accesories buying a cheaper stock that works. Don't even get me started on the unions. Say what kind of vehicle do ya drive? Bet most of it wasn't made in the U.S. |

Well half the price only means something depending on the price involved and the quality. In other words I wouldn't spend "twice" as much on a Colt upper over CMMG, but then we're talking $450-500, but when you're talking about $30. I'll gladly spend the $30. Besides, the cheap stocks aren't the same as a RRA stock and for $30 I wouldn't take the risk myself. Plus, by the time you finally realize that the Tapco or Leapers stock sucks and buy an RRA, you'll have spent over $100 instead of just pending the $69 to begin with. So actually cheap stocks cost more. |
| The few "Leapers" items that I bought have all been junk which I had to buy over from another brand. Some (but not all) items that I have bought from Cheaper Than Dirt also have been junk; however, they will accept returns. The hard part with Cheaper Than Dirt is their very stiff return costs. It looks like they make most of their money on return costs. |
