Anyone have instructions for A1 sight disassembly/reassembly? |

To disassemble an A1 type sight you start out by driving the 1/16" pin in the windage knob. There is a spring and detent under the knob, so be careful when you pull the punch out. Then take a screwdriver and unscrew the shaft from the left side. Once the shaft is unscrewed from the site apetures it can be pulled out of the receiver. Lift apeture and the spring under it out of the receiver. You're done. It's a real simple job. A couple of weeks ago I figured out how to assemble the same site into a stripped revceiver just by looking the parts over. The only fancy trick or tool I used was one of those Black & Decker wood clamps with the squeeze handles to tighten them. Made a nice third hand for keeping the windage knob detent depressed while I inserted the pin. |
