I've heard of Colts using different pins and sizes.  If I were to build an old M16A1 Clone off of a CDNN Investments Colt SP1 Upper, what lower would I need to use?  Also, any special FCG items or lower parts kit items?

I just got done doing one, any new lower will work. I used a DPMS lower, you will not match colors unless you refinish the new lower. I used Norrell's grey/black.

So a Stag lower will work as well?  Also, where can I get that Norrell's refinishing stuff?  Thanks so much!

A Stag lower should be fine, here is a picture of my clone. I am just waiting on the Bolt Carrier and sling. Here is the link to norrell'swww.molyresin.com/http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-8/817075/Pictures5047.jpg

Essential Arms does a grey lower at a reasonable price. I have only seen them on their site so maybe others can tell you of their quality.I personally havn't handled one. Just an option.

Be aware that. despite the SP1 listing in the ad, the units that CDNN is selling are NOT SP1 uppers.  They are M16A1 takoffs.

This is a good thing, since it means that you don't need any special pins or sleeves to fit them to a current type lower. Why CDNN keeps listing them as SP1s is beyond me. Anyway, you're good to go right out of the box
