Ok I am in the process of planning a first build/first AR.  There are so many lowers out there I don't even know where to start.  I want a good quality lower, but don't want to waste $$ on a logo.  So far I am leaning towards; RRA, Mega, Stag or a Doublestar and possibly Bushmaster if I decide to spend a little bit more $.  Any thoughts, would these make for a good start, or mention any others.

thanks

Go with the Stag. Perfect match for RRA parts and you save a few bucks.

Here is how close the stag mates to an RRA upper:

No rattle, and it's not so tight that you have to hammer it apart. The TD pins can still be pushed by hand.

If you don't care about the deer head logo (and I really don't) then the Stag is what you need.

+1

My Stag lower took my RRA parts kit without a problem.

And of course my Stag Upper mated up to my Stag lower with no problems

I got mine from Eaglefirearms.net . Good products. Most of my parts came from them and Bravo Company.

I can definitly recommend Bravo Company. They have excellent service.

I've been pretty happy with the Eagle Arms lowers I got from Quantico.

I've got an Ameetec lower that I paid $90 for. I think the prices went up some though recently. The best thing to do is try to find someone local that sells lowers so you won't have to pay a transfer fee. Luckily I have Ameetec that is local plus they also sell Mega, RRA and DPMS just to name a few.
