I am planning to build my first receiver from an 80% forging.  Does anyone have any input or preference as to where I should get the forged lower from?  I have been looking at the different ones from cnc, national ordnance, tannery, and a couple others that I cant remember at the moment.  Also can anyone explain to me the difference in the national ordnance hps and jfm lowers other than the obvious holes being pre-drilled.

I appreciate any info on this matter.

I don't have the answer to your question, but welcome!

Just out of curiosity, why a 80% for your first build?

They are actually more expensive than a good forged lower.

well I would like to be able to say i built it myself, and have int it what i want in it from the get go.  I am an auto technician by trade, so precision measurements are not a concern and i already have most of the tools i would need to finish the job.  but mostly i like a decent challenge and since this is a rifle I would be able to complete, why not?  after this I will most likely try a 1911 receiver.  But first things first
