i am getting ready to purchase a lower from someone. need some suggestions. i dont want one with the extra metal like the colt ones. i know the bushmasters dont have the extra metal, are their any other ones. |

I assume by the extra metal you are referring to the block that prevents FA FCG being installed? If so, then most other than Colt don't have that extra block in behind the trigger. I have built 5 so far, one on a Stainless black Tefloned DPMS and 4 on Ameetec. All have been boringly uneventful, thank goodness, with everything going in and working exactly like it should. Only on the DPMS was there a VERY slight problem with the RR NM trigger hanging up on the BC after I put in a JP Ent. tensioning pin; it worked fine with the normal take down pin in place. Three thousandths of an inch off the top of the hammer fixed that and I do not know if the problem was with the lower, hammer, or upper, or even if there really was a problem. I highly recommend the Ameetec lowers as IMO they are extremely well made, well finished, and completely mil-spec. I could not be happier with both the product and the service Warren gives. From here on out, unless something really queer happens, I expect to continue to use Ameetec products. |
