I originally posted this in the AR discussion forum and think it may have been the wrong place.

I tried to install my new VLTOR stock and found the receiver plate will not sit flush on the face of the lower. The boss (dimple) on the plate is pretty much oblong and will not seat in the round hole of the LMT lower and I end up with quite a gap at the bottom of the receiver plate and lower. This is my first  time installing a stock other than a A1 fixed stocks on my Colt's. Is this part something I am supposed to fit? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Thanks for any help.

No it should pop right in, I have found some that are a little tight but they do go in. Maybe yours is out of spec, can you post a pic or can you post the measurements?

It had to be out of spec. too late to post a pic. I ended up working on it with a dremel to get it to fit last night. The boss was somewhat deformed too, punched to deep and slightly off center. It fits now but I'm none to happy that I had to grind on it to make it fit.

the end plates that i had didn't even fit on the vltor buffer tube.  i had to dremel the inside of them until they fit.  it wasn't too big of a deal.  i don't remember where i got the end plates from,  DPMS i think.

Well, mine came with the Vltor as part of the kit from VLTOR.
