I've built several lowers and have an Oly upper that I've been switching around when I want a different stock.

So now I'm in the process of building a complete rifle.  I'm getting ready to barrel the upper and I'm wondering
if using an anti-seize compound is really required. I've never been very fond of them as they don't
always work as advertised. So can I just grease things up or is anti-seize really better? Your opinions please!

Just get some moly grease to do the job right. It's not expensive.

There has been endless debate about what is OK to use on the barrel threads. I bought some of this. Moly-Slide, it has NO graphite and 60% moly by weight. The one ounce jar will last a long time. This is the exact same stuff for sale by Bushmaster.

Grease, not "anti-seize".  Moly grease can be purchased as ordinary wheel bearing grease.  Or gease such as used in a grease gun.

Ditto on the moly.
