[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Which BUIS?

Which BUIS are yall using? I am leaning towards the ARMS #40. I am interested in any feed back good or bad on this sight. I was looking in the Bushmaster catalog and on the description of this sight the stated that you needed to install the .040 higher sight post. Is this correct? Thanks for any info.

Can go wrong with the ARMS 40 but "some" of the present day operators (I'm a has been) are using the LMT fixed BUIS.

Also, if you don't have the Colt front sight tower then the rest would need the .040 post. I've heard some that ran the post almost all the way out and could still co-whitness.

The ARMS 40 is probably the best BUIS for a folder. If you are looking for a fixed, the LMT is currently the thing to have.

I'm using both the ARMS#40 and the LMT. Like them both equally well. Needing a taller front sight post varies from barrel to barrel. I needed one on two 20" barrels (Bushmaster and Colt), but not on any carbine barrels (again, both Bushmaster and Colt).

The LMT takes a beating. I managed to drop an upper at the range. Landed squarely on the right front edge and retained zero. Ouch.

I'm looking for a flip up BUIS, and the ARMS is currently running in first place, but, which 40?
There are 3 of them???

And why would be good too.

Thanks for all the info. I will do some looking at the LMT. Just not too sure about the sight height. I have a bushy shorty w/ ak brake HBAR. The post is only a couple of bucks from Bushmaster. Just wonder how I will know if I need it?

The ARMS 40A, because it has the A2 aperature
