Sorry if any of these are silly questions....just want to do it right. I'm about to install a mini-Y brake on my new Bushmaster upper. I had Bushmaster send my brake and one of each type washer loose...figured I could do it myself and learn something in the process. Which washer will make a better choice for the installation? Is one really any better than the other? I have access to a brake wrench but am not really sure if I'm ABSOLUTELY going to need a vice. If I take the handguards off and have a friend hold the barrel, will I be able to deliver the correct amount of torque? Stupid question (but I'll ask anyhow): Would it be safe to use a black nylon washer?? I've got one that will time the brake perfectly, but I'm not sure if it would hold up to the heat (I don't intend on doing any bumpfiring! h Thanks for any help! Mike |
HMMMM, heat and a plastic washer,,, do not do it. You do not state your current barrel length, so hard to assume if the Mini-Y is for "Pre" or "Post-ban" use, or if the barrel is shorter than 16" and using the brake to meet the lawful Title-1 16" rule. |
