| Interested in buying a new stripped Colt Lower Receiver to build my HBAR. I've heard mixed reviews on quality of machining and finish. Anyone want to share their experiences with the product? Thanks! |

Unless you have pictures of the Colt CEO nekkid with a hooker you're not going to get a COlt stripped lower receiver. Even if you could, you'd pay an insane amount of money to get a product that, at best, is on par with many other lowers that sell for about $90 each - and - you'd also have to deal with the Colt's non-standard trigger group parts and pins. Now why would you ever want to do such a thing? CMOS |
I don't think Colt sells stripped lowers, but it should be easy to find a complete lower--already factory assembled. Just check the vendors on this site. I haven't personally heard of any mixed reviews--every Colt lower I've seen--that's a lot--has been excellent. |

Colt Stripped Lower Receiver Anybody need pics of the Colt CEO nekkid with a hooker. I know where to get those also. ![]() I don't know if is says HBAR on it. You would have to contact Florida Gun Works for that info. |
| I ordered a colt lower with internal parts from RGUNS. They do sell them stripped also from Hoplite ,RGUNS and a few other places. Look in shotgun news for the adds. Yes it was a little higher, but I allready have a Colt upper for it and I wanted to keep it all Colt. |
Florida Gun Works? Have you ever dealt w/them? I have not, but from some of the comments I've read on this site (I think) about them, don't think I want to. If you have dealt w/them, would appreciate your input. |
No I haven't dealt with them. I ran across the site during research for the stripped lowers I was shopping for. First I heard of them being less than desirable to work with. Is it me or am I starting to see a trend of dealers that handle Colt products being less than desirable to work with (ie: SAW Sales and now Florida Gun Works). My one dealing with SAW Sales, being a purchase of a clearance GG&G Scout rail, was pretty smooth, but there have been some pretty bad stories about them. Oh well, f4n was looking for a source for a stripped Colt lower and that is apparently one of them and there were a couple of others mentioned with LPKs in them also, so f4n has a starting point for what he wants, anyway. |
$289 for a stripped post ban lower? You must be crazy!!! ![]() If you want a quality lower with a well known name, get a Bushmaster for $150. If you want a quality lower with a lesser known name, get an Amteec for $85. Both I believe are fully legal in MD because they don't say Colt or have a queer pony on them. Either way, get a J&T lower parts kit ($55) for it and you will have a better lower than Colt will sell you at a much better price. |
