I have a DPMS bull 20" upper with the free float handguard and 4 rail gas block. How difficult would it be to remove the round handguards so I could replace it with a 4 rail handguard?
What all needs to be done?
Thanks!

hold rifle between your legs, muzzle facing up.  Use your knees to brace the receivers, and twist handguard counterclockwise.  Unless someone at the factory got a little over-zealous with the strap wrench, it should break free with just a little 'oomph'.  If yours has the old German torque value of GUTENTIGHT, you may need to add a drop or 2 of penetrating oil and/or apply your own strap wrench.  If you end up using a vise to brace the receiver, (like I did) make sure you use some padding (I used an old leather tool belt) to avoid scratching the finish.  (don't feel bad...I had to ask the same question a few years ago)
