Hello.

Got my Ultralite today but it came with no instructions whatsoever. Should there have been some?
Does anyone have them as a file or something? ACE site seems to be down, too.
I took the A2 stock off my Bushy but for the life of me I can't figure out how to "connect the dots" or in other words the pieces of the stock to my rifle.
Do I have the right parts, and all the necessary parts? Here's what I got:

As you may have noticed, I have the thicker recoil pad.
I think I figured out correctly how to fasten the, umm, supporting thingy to the base of the buffer tube with the swivel screw and the two small ring-like bits (damn do I wish I knew what the parts are called in English! I don't even know what they're called in Finnish hinking.gif )

Also, the two smallest screws could be used to put the recoil pad on the metal shoulder pad.
But how is the metal shoulder pad thingy supposed to stay on the end of the buffer tube?
I can't figure out how to achieve that with the rest of the parts.
The biggest screw fits the hole on the buffer tube but is too large for the hole in the metal shoulder pad.
Also, the foam padding tube that is supposed to go on the buffer tube is so tight-fitting I can't get it on the tube.

I'm sorry, I have trouble describing the situation. It's midnight here and it's been a long day.
First my long-awaited packet from Brownell's had some wrong stuff in it and now this.  hePlease, just  tell me if I have the right parts.
If I do, maybe some kind soul will give me idiot-proof instructions on installing the damn thing...

Thanks in advance.

To be honest, I'd laugh..but I know I couldn't do it either..I thought there was supposed to be a bar on the bottom for support, and one that went thru the foam?  I'm probably thinking of the wrong stock though..Good luck!

Mine came with 'stuctions!
I got the regular skeleton though, not the ultralite.
I'm sensing that the additional "bar" cheetah referred to doesn't come with the ultralite.
Can't really explain all those extra screws though.
First the foam goes directly over the current buffer tube.  (little WD-40 and some patience will aide in that installaiton) might want to hold off on that though until you find out if that other ring has to go over the buffer tube first, which again I'm sensing it does, just not sure why.

Wish I could be more help.

I'm sorry to add insult to injury, but mine came without instructions.... and I figured out how it went together myself.

The parts are held in place by tightening the screws to clamp on the buffer tube.

Its really not all that hard.  Put the buffer tube on as normal, then the little clamp piece (with the takedown pin, detent, etc. in place.)  Slip the rubber tube on.  Then the buttplate.  One screw holds the buttplate on.  Two screws hold the rubber pad on.

It just ain't that hard.

One hint on an easy way to slip on the rubber pad without damaging it.  WD-40 is good, but Windex or diluted Dawn dishwashing soap works great and evaporates with the water - no oily mess or smell.

Success! http://personal.inet.fi/koti/simon_siivut/sekavat/ar_ace.jpg

One more problem before that, though. The screw used to clamp the butt plate on has an allen head, but the size seems to be an obscure (to us Europeans at least) inch size. Smaller than 5mm and bigger than 4mm. Allen wrench didn't come with the stcok. No such thing in the local hardware store. Luckily I noticed that a certain Torx wrench fits it perfectly, so I finally was able to put it together. A bit of soap water made the foam tube easier to slide on so all is well now.
There were a couple of extra screws for some reason which added to the confusion, but all's well that ends well.
Thanks, guys...

The extra screws are to cover up any screw holes that you don't use. Like if you did not use the sling stud it would give a nice finished apperence.

Also when you can't find an allen wrench that fits, you can always use a flat head screwdriver.

Sure, but not a single one of mine would fit! And I have a few. All too large or too small hinking.gif
