Brand new at putting parts kit into lower receiver. In installing the front Pivot pin, had all the proper tools, etc, but kept having detent and spring hit the ceiling.

Finally, after compressing them, and rotating tool, slipped a .010 blade type feeler gauge in to help hold them down.

Worked like a charm as I inserted the pivot pin, pushing the tool out as it went. Then removed the feeler guage.

This may be old news to you armorers in the bunch, but wanted to pass it on.

The big trick is to do this inside a clear plastic bag, like a dry cleaner's bag, that way when the pin and spring go ballistic, they don't get lost!  [:D]
