Has anyone powder coated an lower or an upper? How much does it add to the surface and how does it wear?
Thanks, Ray

I've been thinking of getting one of the small powder coating guns for my car parts. If I do, I'll coat a lower and post the results. I just ordered some 0% forgings from DSA yesterday so it might be awhile before I actually get a chance to try this out though. Ever since I saw the picture of the DeWalt carbine I've wanted one so that will be my first try.

I bought a lower that had a powder coated finish. I had to clean the holes out so the pieces would fit. Some places went back down to the metal because the coating came off when I hand turned the bits in the holes.

Brownells has some finishes that may be better than powder coating for firearm applications.

I haven't powder coated any gun parts, but I had some bike parts done.  It is a pretty thick coating that I don't think is right for most gun parts.  Tyrod's right about Brownells having better products.
