Hi All, I am putting together a low budget 16" carbine upper for my RRA varmint, saw this on Ebay and thought these triangular free float handguards might work good for shooting paper from a rest, look good too. Low cost ($30)has me thinking "Chinese junk" Anyone seen or used these before? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36258&item=3669757271&rd=1 |

Well, for what its worth, I bought a carbine length unit, price was low enough, ($30.00) and heres what I got... Very good looking, made in Taiwan, all aluminum, including aluminum barrel nut, knurled thin ring jam nut, HEAVY! 1 lb. triangular, heavy milling marks left on bottom for sort of checkered grip, hole in bottom for ?, ventilated, two drilled and tapped holes and slots for weaver bases and cap headed screws which are included as well as soft allen wrench. You could mount accessories on each side. It should be nice off bench rest, a bit too wide at bottom for handhold... Its much heavier than I expected, may not use just for that reason. |
